FAQs

Treen refers to small, functional wooden domestic objects made by hand before the widespread use of plastics and mass production.

Commonly utilised dense hardwoods include boxwood, beech, walnut, and fruitwoods such as plum and pear due to their durability and capacity for fine turning.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit hand-turned tool marks, natural wear patterns, honest patination accumulated from handling, and historic shrinkage splits in the timber.

These tactile objects can be displayed in wooden bowls on coffee tables or arranged on bookshelves to introduce organic texture and historical interest to modern spaces.

Keep wooden items out of direct sunlight and away from central heating sources to prevent splitting, occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to nourish the timber.
