The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The central circular reserve is framed with gilded half marigolds inside small red scrolled sections and a wide red enamelled band edges the plate and it is finished with a gilded rim. Red painted mark to the base and decorators' numbers 28 and 52.

It measures 19.4cm (7 5/8") wide and 3.5cm (1 3/8") high.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. Minor handling wear. The surface is very finely crazed as is typical of Derby of this period but there is no discolouration. The gilding on the rim has been very carefully refreshed and displays beautifully.
