Neoclassical terracotta sculptures draw inspiration from classical Greco-Roman antiquity, featuring anatomical naturalism, draped classical attire, and mythological subject matter. Popularised during the 18th and 19th centuries, terracotta was favoured by sculptors for its malleability and warm surface texture prior to kiln firing.
