In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Lacquered wine tables gained prominence during the late 17th century, heavily influenced by imported Asian lacquerware and the rising popularity of tea, coffee, and wine consumption among the European elite.

Authentic period pieces are typically constructed from native hardwoods such as oak, pine, or fruitwood, finished with multiple layers of traditional resin-based lacquer and hand-carved details.

Authentication involves examining the hand-mixed lacquer for natural ageing crazing, checking for hand-cut joins and peg construction, and observing the wear patterns consistent with centuries of manual use.

This piece works effectively as an accent surface in a contemporary room, providing a focal point of rich colour and historic craftsmanship when paired with minimalist surroundings.

Preservation requires keeping the table away from direct sunlight and fluctuating humidity, cleaning only with a soft, dry cloth, and avoiding chemical polishes that can degrade the historic finish.
