Walton House Antiques has dated this piece to the Regency era.
It has a tooled leather surface and stands on a hexagonal faceted triform base with turned Burr Oak bun feet and recessed castors, all of which are original to the piece. During the early part of the 19th century, several celebrated furniture designers such as George Bullock and Gillows of Lancaster produced furniture of excellent quality in Burr Oak veneer, and these items continue to be in great demand. Although not stamped, this piece is of similar quality. Circa1830.
