Farmhouse tables originated as utilitarian work surfaces in rural homesteads, designed for food preparation, family dining, and daily domestic labour.

They are traditionally constructed from regional hardwoods like ash, oak, or pine, utilizing sturdy mortise and tenon joinery to withstand heavy daily use.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-planed surfaces, natural wear patterns, traditional joinery without modern fasteners, and distinct timber grain characteristics consistent with period tooling.

Pair the table with minimalist contemporary seating or mixed materials to create a balanced contrast between rustic warmth and modern clean lines.

Maintain the wood by applying natural beeswax periodically, avoiding direct sunlight, and using coasters or placemats to protect the finish from moisture and heat.
