Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Queen Anne revival card table is made from warm brown figured walnut with a walnut veneer. The serpentine-shaped fold-over top has a carved edge, sitting above a figured walnut frieze. Three cabriole legs support the structure, featuring prominent acanthus leaf carvings at the knees and terminating in ball and claw feet. The timber displays natural grain patterns and variations in tone across the top and apron. Measuring 75.5 cm high, 84.5 cm wide, and 84.5 cm deep, this piece serves as a functional accent item. It fits well beside the front door as a console surface or functions in a living room as an occasional table.

FAQs

An antique fold-over card table is a piece of occasional furniture crafted with a hinged top that opens to double its surface area, originally intended for playing tabletop games.

These pieces usually feature solid walnut or figured walnut veneers mounted on timber frames, accompanied by carved decorative elements and cabriole legs.

Authentic style characteristics include distinct cabriole legs, carved knees with motif details such as acanthus leaves, and carved pad or ball-and-claw feet.

Positioned folded flat against a wall, it functions as a hall console or side table for displaying lamps, decorative bowls, or framed art.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a soft cloth, applying a high-grade natural wax polish periodically, and keeping the wood away from direct heat sources.
