The lid slides to reveal a compartment for matches and an integral striker. The case measures approximately 7.5 cm long, 3.5 cm wide, and 2 cm deep. Constructed from a fine-grained hardwood, likely fruitwood or similar. The surface shows a warm patina from age and use, with an age-related split across the lid.
