FAQs

Ladder back chairs trace their origins back to medieval Europe, gaining widespread popularity during the 17th and 18th centuries in country and vernacular furniture making due to their sturdy, utilitarian construction.

Traditional dining sets are predominantly constructed from dense hardwoods such as oak, elm, or ash, often featuring mortise and tenon joints for structural longevity and durability.

Authentic pieces can be identified through traditional joinery methods, such as hand-cut dovetails or pegged joints, visible wood grain characteristics, and natural patination developed over decades of use.

Pairing a heavy wooden dining table with minimalist modern lighting, neutral upholstered seating accents, or contemporary tableware creates a balanced, eclectic aesthetic that bridges historical and modern design.

Preserve oak surfaces by dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the wood.
