A gueridon is a small French table, often featuring a circular top supported by one or more columns, which originated in the 17th century and evolved through various classical revivals.

These pieces typically utilise dense hardwoods such as mahogany or walnut, often accented with marble tops and cast gilt-bronze or brass mounts.

Authentication involves examining construction joints, timber grain characteristics, hand-cut screws, and the natural patina developed on the wood and metal mounts over centuries.

Pairing classical wooden furniture with contemporary neutral upholstery and minimalist lighting creates a balanced scheme that highlights the rich grain of the timber.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding direct sunlight, keeping away from heat sources, and using pH-neutral cleaners on marble surfaces.
