A superb example of a silver handled walking stick cane. This wonderful piece dates from the late 1910s and is fitted with a detailed Swans head crook handle, in solid silver. The Swan is beautifully modelled, with feathered details to the head, a shaped beak and charming glass eyes. The neck is decorated with a geometric repoussé pattern and has a large vacant shield shaped cartouche to the front. There is a hallmarked silver ferrule and the gently tapering cane retains the original brass and steel ferrule to the bottom. An excellent example of a collectable item, with a practical use.
