A wonderful example of a 19th century metal grape carrier, sometimes called a hod or a hotte. It is full of character and charm and would grace any wine cellar or, perhaps, hallway for use as an umbrella/stick stand. Superb calligraphy with later-applied Chateauneuf du Pape. French, c.1900.
