Description:
This is a fine quality large antique Victorian loo table, in stunning burr walnut, decorated with stunning boxwood marquetry, standing on a four-pillar pedestal, circa 1860, in excellent original condition. Ideal for use a large centre table in the hallway or dining table. This Victorian oval dining table top is decorated with symmetrical boxwood floral marquetry, comprising four floral sections, united by twin string inlay borders. The top is finished with a cavetto moulding and inset frieze below. The Victorian loo table sits on a fine quality four-pillar pedestal, comprising four tapered fluted columns, decorated with bulbous and foliate carvings, with a stunning twin-directional fluted central finial. The pedestal is supported by four sturdy cabriole legs, terminating on scroll toes. The Victorian loo table retains its original working brassware, which consists of a sprung locking mechanism on the underside of the table, along with 2 large threaded brass bolts. This allows the top to be lifted into a vertical position, for storage purposes and also be detached from the pedestal for safe transportation purposes. The table can accommodate between 4 – 6 persons and is sufficiently tall enough to comfortably fit your legs underneath. It is also sufficiently wide enough to accommodate serving dishes in the centre of the table.

Condition Report:
The table has been cleaned and French polished in our workshop, to a professional standard. Therefore, it boasts a gorgeous colour and patination, with lovely grain configuration. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The original brass locking mechanism is complete and in excellent working order, which is nice to see. The table features the original top, base, pedestal, and legs and locking brassware. The table is solid in joint and is ready to use.
