Antique French Silk Cushion

Description

A beautiful Antique French silk cushion which has been handmade with a silk backing and wonderful gold and silver brocade.  This cushion is feather filled and very soft to handle.  The face of this cushion is an original piece of French silk from the early 19th century.  Beautiful colours, rare greens, soft pinks and pale blue tones with a wonderful floral design.

We have a good selection of antique Beauvais tapestry cushions, antique Aubusson cushions and ancient old kilim cushions too.  As well as contemporary pillow cushions from Suzani design cushions and Ikat cushions which are silk and wool all hand-produced in Turkey.

Purchase any of our cushions online and we will securely wrap and ship them to your home.

The Aubusson manufacture of the 17th and 18th centuries managed to compete with the royal manufacture of Gobelins Tapestry and the privileged position of Beauvais tapestry.  Aubusson carpets were produced in the upper valley of the Creuse in central France, possibly developed from looms in family workshops established by Flemings that are noted in documents from the 16th century.

We are happy to reserve this French silk cushion for you, and you can arrange either a home viewing or to see it at our barn showroom in Crondall, Surrey.
