In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

First Period Worcester refers to porcelain produced at the Worcester factory from its founding in 1751 until approximately 1783, characterized by specific paste compositions, hand-painted underglaze blue and polychrome enamels, and distinct transfer printing techniques.

These pieces were typically crafted using a soft-paste porcelain formula incorporating soapstone, which allowed for intricate pierced lattice work formed in moulds and applied relief flower details before high-temperature firing and hand enamelling.

Authenticity is determined by examining paste translucency under transmitted light, evaluating the characteristic brushwork and palette of the enamel painting, and searching for period crescent marks, square seal marks, or workmans symbols on the unglazed footrim.

Such historic ceramic items can be displayed on open shelving, within glass-fronted cabinets, or used as focal points on side tables to add texture, colour, and a sense of historical layering to modern spaces.

To preserve antique ceramics, keep them out of direct sunlight to prevent enamel fading, handle them exclusively by the base rather than delicate applied features, and clean them only by dusting with a soft, dry cloth rather than immersing in water.
