FAQs

A game crown is a historic hanging rack traditionally used in country houses and larders to suspend game birds and meats for cooling or aging.

These pieces were hand-forged by blacksmiths using wrought iron, frequently featuring twisted iron bars, riveted joints, and integrated suspension hooks.

Authentic items display hand-hammered surfaces, irregular forge marks, traditional joinery such as rivets or collars rather than modern welding, and natural oxidation appropriate to age.

It can be suspended from a ceiling hook or styled on a surface as a sculptural decorative object to introduce industrial texture and historic character.

Dust gently with a dry brush and apply a microcrystalline wax sparingly to inhibit active rust whilst preserving the historic patina.
