FAQs

Treen refers to small, functional wooden household objects made before the widespread use of plastics and modern manufacturing, often shaped on a lathe.

Common traditional woods include fruitwoods like pear and apple, as well as boxwood, sycamore, beech, and elm, chosen for their fine grain and density.

Authentic pieces show tool marks from hand-turning, genuine patination, wear consistent with age, and shrinkage cracks rather than modern machining.

Display collections of turned wood on open shelving, sideboards, or coffee tables to add organic warmth, texture, and historical interest to minimalist spaces.

Keep wooden treen out of direct sunlight and away from central heating sources to prevent splitting, and maintain the surface with occasional applications of food-safe mineral oil or beeswax.
