FAQs

Traditional Spanish furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries often utilised native dense hardwoods like elm and walnut, characterised by sturdy construction designed for durability and functionality in domestic and monastic settings.

These tables typically feature solid timber planks joined with pegged mortise and tenon joints, frequently reinforced with wrought iron stretcher bars for structural stability.

Authenticity is indicated by hand-cut joinery, natural timber shrinkage, oxidisation of iron hardware, and hand-planed surface textures consistent with historical woodworking tools.

Pairing a rustic wooden table with clean-lined modern seating or placing it against a neutral wall creates a balanced focal point that highlights the natural grain and historical character of the timber.

Maintain antique timber by keeping it away from direct heat sources and sunlight, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying a microcrystalline wax to nourish the wood.
