Description

Probably the most tactile & wonderfully patinated piece of treen handled here; beautiful worn glassy patination of dense burr timber. Pole lathe turned cup with brass pins within the base for grinding, the removable stopper the same. Subtle warp gives the piece an aged appearance, stands fine. Used in a time when spices such as nutmeg were a high value commodity. From a private collection north wales.
