Two from the same carpet. No, I did not cut it and no, I do not have any more :)

Same size as the other fragment so together they can cover nearly 5 metres of hallway. Great value for money, and really pretty colours. Both in generally good condition, except each have one long side that is unsecured due to being cut away from the main body of the carpet. Sold as is.

Antique Oushak rugs originate from the town of Usak in western Turkey and date back to the Ottoman Empire, renowned for their fine wool, luminous vegetable dyes, and large-scale geometric or floral motifs.

These carpets are traditionally hand-knotted using hand-spun sheep wool for the pile and foundation, often incorporating natural vegetable and insect dyes such as madder root and indigo.

Authenticity is identified through hand-spun wool irregularities, natural dye oxidation, structural wear consistent with age, and characteristic traditional Anatolian knotting techniques.

Fragment pieces can be mounted and framed as textile art on a wall, or used as small accent floor coverings to add historical texture and colour to contemporary living spaces.

Preservation requires professional specialist cleaning, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent dye fading, and using breathable underlays to protect the historic wool fibres from friction and moisture.
