Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Walls ice cream carts were historically used by vendors and traders to sell ice cream in public spaces, parks, and streets from the early 20th century onwards. Smaller toy or display versions were often produced for promotional purposes, shop windows, or as childrens playthings mimicking the full-sized trade vehicles.

These items were typically constructed from solid timber such as pine or oak, joined with traditional nails, screws, and corner brackets. They feature cast iron or spoked metal wheels and paper or stencilled painted signage for branding.

Authenticity is generally determined by genuine surface wear, natural ageing of the wood and paintwork, original typography, and period-correct metal components such as iron axles and brackets rather than modern reproductions.

Such pieces function well as statement decorative accents in eclectic, rustic, or vintage-inspired interiors, often placed on a sideboard, within a bookcase, or as a standalone floor display to add historical character.

Preservation involves keeping the item in a stable environment away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity to prevent paint flaking and wood drying. Dust gently with a dry, soft cloth and avoid chemical cleaners that might damage historic painted surfaces.
