Victorian furniture spans the reign of Queen Victoria from 1837 to 1901, characterised by a revival of historicism, robust proportions, deep wood tones, and functional elegance tailored for domestic studies and bedrooms.

These tables were predominantly crafted from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over secondary softwoods, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints in the drawer construction, turned wooden drawer pulls, and brass castors.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate joinery such as hand-cut dovetails, genuine age-related patination and oxidisation on the timber, handmade screws, and wear patterns consistent with century-old usage rather than machine tooling.

This piece can serve as a functional desk in a home study, a console table in a hallway, or a dressing table in a bedroom, pairing effectively with both minimalist modern seating and eclectic vintage accessories.

Maintain the wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the timber and preserve the historic finish.
