Antique Treen 19thc Lignum Vitae Dog Whistle. English C1860-80.

Description

A very nice example of a late 19thc hand held dog whistle, made out of lignum vitae, which has a fine dark colour and also the pleasing lighter colour of the sap wood....the maker has chosen his piece of lignum well...also it still retains the original brass collar for attaching a light chain / cord , so you can loop it around your neck on walks....it makes a very good sound and even worked on my dog, who came straight in on the whistle..!
