FAQs

Nesting tables originated in China during the Ming dynasty, designed specifically to be stacked together to save space when not in use and deployed individually for serving tea or displaying objects.

These tables are traditionally constructed from dense hardwoods such as huanghuali, padauk, or rosewood, utilising intricate mortise and tenon joinery without the use of metal nails or screws.

Authenticity is identified by examining the hand-cut joinery, the natural patina accumulated through age, traditional wood species, and signs of hand-carving rather than modern machine production.

A nest of tables can be separated to provide functional surface areas around a living space next to seating, or stacked together in a corner to display decorative objects or lamps.

Maintain antique wooden surfaces by keeping them away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying appropriate natural wax polish.
