A Chamberlain Worcester Porcelain Beaker C.1800

18th century
Description

A Chamberlain’s Worcester porcelain beaker c 1800. Very finely painted in the manner of John Wood with Cupid and Psyche, in a gilt oval reserve, the ground with bands of acanthus, foliate pattern and laurels. Mark in gilt Chamberlain’s Worcester and titled LOVE ASLEEP.

Condition: Slight surface wear. The gold band around the rim and the base has been refreshed. A few glaze cracks to the base which do not show inside.
