Here is a superb 19th Century Dutch Burr Walnut Hall table with inlaid marquetry across the top and continuing down each of its four sides.
The table is crafted in the William and Mary style of the 17th Century, and is a beautiful rich golden honey hue, standing on four wide barley twist legs aside a curved X stretcher which also bears an inlaid design at the centre.
There is a drawer to one side which still holds the old paper lining from years ago!
The top has a floral border inlaid with various rich coloured fruitwoods which really stand out against the golden shimmer of the walnut with its beautiful markings and patina. The marquetry then continues on all four sides with a dark inlay of twisted tendrils and leaves
The table stands 75cm high, 117cm wide and 80cm deep.
I''ve had the table fully cleaned and polished by the excellent and well renowned polisher Alex Webster in North Wales, so it comes in a lovely clean and robust condition, with all the inlays complete,
...smooth and secure. As this is an old piece there is of course the surface wear the you would expect, but as I hope the photographs show, it displays beautifully - please check out the photos to see if it suits you. It certainly will look wonderful in any home whether traditional or contemporary.
It is classed as a Hall Table, but can also be known as a Side Table or Lamp Table.
