Fine Pair Of Bow Porcelain Bocage Figures, New Dancers, C. 1765.

A fine pair of Bow porcelain bocage figures, the ‘New Dancers’, c. 1765. Modelled as a boy and a girl, dressed in 18th Century costume, dancing before elaborate floral bocage. Both figures wearing floral decorated attire.
 
Set upon large rococo moulded bases, strewn with flowers, and edged in turquoise enamel, and gilt.
 
Iron red anchor and dagger marks to the bases.
 
Height – 22.5 cm, 8 7/8”.
 
Width – 18.8 cm, 7 3/8”.
 
Depth – 8.5 cm, 3 3/8”.
 
Condition – Typical chips to flowers and leaves. Repair to hands. Even so, both figures are in unusually excellent condition for figures of this age.
