East India Company Flintlock Knee Blunderbuss/ Musketoon

18th century
Description

Late 18th / early 19th century east india company short blunderbuss or musketoon. Swamped steel barrel with chiselled strapwork, double line engraved lock plate marked with the east india rampant lion and crowned 8, tiger stripe beech stock with steel trigger guard engraved with leaves with pineapple finial and a pierced foliate engraved side plate, shouldered butt with curved steel butt plate. Overall in very good condition with slight crack to wood under barrel but tight and very solid, full working order holding strongly on full and half cock
