Antique Treen 19thc "Forming" Block of Solid English Ash. - English C1840-60.

Description

This is a first for me....a nicely made "forming" block of solid ash...it would have been used to shapen copper, brass and pewter jugs, mugs and small bowls....it has gained a wonderful colour and is a rare survival as many of these would have been discarded or burnt after their usefulness had ceased....it has come from the collection of Mike Desborough....a former customer and a very good collector.
