We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

FAQs

Farmhouse tables originated as utilitarian work surfaces in rural homesteads, designed for food preparation and communal family meals.

They were typically constructed from locally sourced hardwoods and softwoods such as cherry, oak, pine, and elm, chosen for durability and strength.

Authentic pieces often feature hand-cut joinery, timber shrinkage, tool marks, and a patina accumulated from decades of use.

Pairing a rustic wooden table with modern seating creates a balanced contrast that anchors a dining space.

Regular maintenance involves cleaning with a damp cloth, avoiding harsh chemicals, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the wood.
