Wonderful rosewood fold-over games table from the fabulous Victorian era. The superb shaped top has a gilded edge and superb floral marquetry inlay. Rotating this through a quarter turn reveals a hidden storage recess with plenty of room inside to store the cards, games, etc and opens to a square green baize interior set within a smart gilded border. Three sides of the shaped apron are decorated in more of that beautiful fine floral marquetry and is supported by four elegant slender cabriole style legs with detailed ormolu to the hips and terminating in decorative sabots. Like all antiques there are imperfections however this is a solid table and highly decorative. The superb quality and condition shows high Victorian craftsmanship. When closed it makes a stunning console table however it is always ready for games night.
