A lovely adjustable reading table dating from the mid 19th Century. The table stands on a large column on a quatrefoil base with bun feet and small castors below. The table has two adjustable reading stands on easel backs and one removable book rest. The height of the table is adjustable and it ratchets smoothly up and down, held in place with a wooden knob. The table also adjusts side to side, allowing for it to be placed over a bed or chair.It is good quality and it is in good condition for its age with a wonderful rich patina. There is some natural movement around the top where the base is attached to slide and adjust but overall it is strong and sturdy and all the parts move well. There are some minor signs of age and use, some minor surface marks and small knocks around the base but nothing detrimental and it displays well.The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
