A Collection of Early 20th Century Antique Elastolin and Lineol Exotic Animals.

This remarkable group was discovered wrapped in tissue paper in a loft. They are in very good condition. The collection comprises of fourteen animals. They were produced by the German companies of Hausser Elastolin and Lineol and date to circa 1920. They specialised in making these figures out of a natural composition mixed with sawdust, glue, and chalk. The composition was hot pressed in a mould with a central wired structure and later each figure was hand painted by an artist with fine detailing. At the time they were produced, these were high quality expensive gifts for wealthy customers. This group has several large and rare figures and would be displayed on an open shelf or in a cabinet very pleasingly.
