This beautifully decorated early English Delft charger dates to the mid 18th century and is most likely Bristol Delft. It is of good size and slightly deeper than a normal plate or charger. It is decorated in a style that mimics early Chinese porcelain and is painted with a scene of a sailing boat on a lake and in the distance buildings with pagoda shaped roofs set amongst trees and vegetation. These are surrounded by decorative boarders . This piece is in good original condition. It has minor flaking to the glaze mainly on the rim. This is typical of this early pottery.
