Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian Staffordshire pottery figures are earthenware decorative ornaments manufactured in Staffordshire, England, during the nineteenth century. Typically press-moulded with flat backs, they were designed as affordable home decor depicting street vendors, animals, royalty, and folklore characters.

These figures were created using press-moulded earthenware clay coated in a clear lead glaze. The details were subsequently painted by hand using overglaze enamel pigments and cobalt accents before a final low-temperature firing.

Authentic pieces feature unglazed, flat reverses designed to rest against walls, visible moulding seam lines, small air vent holes, and age-related crazing in the lead glaze. Hand-painted enamels often show minor wear consistent with historical handling.

These figures add historical character when placed in symmetrical pairs on a fireplace mantelpiece, styled alongside books on open shelving, or displayed within a traditional dresser unit.

Dust figures regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth or soft-bristled brush. Avoid immersing the ceramic in water or using harsh cleaning solvents, as moisture can enter crazing cracks and degrade fragile overglaze enamels.
