p Delightful Derby porcelain figurine depicting a shepherdess with a lamb at her feet. /p
 
p Rich hand-painted polychrome enamelling with cobalt blue skirt, pink apron and russet red vest. /p
 
p Sumptuous gilding all over with delicate flowers painted on the back of the skirt and rich foliage to the blue front. /p
 
p Red painted mark to base and impressed n.55. /p
 
p This particular design comes from the Robert Bloor period and is noted in John Twitchett''s renowned book on Derby Porcelain. /p
 
p The Derby stamp dates this to c. 1830. However it is documented that Derby utilised impressed marks on their earlier pieces, suggesting that the painter may have taken a blank figure from an earlier period and applied colour c. 1830. /p
 
p Fascinating combination of craftsmanship and history. /p
