Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A sugar caster or muffineer is a small container with a perforated top used to sprinkle sugar or spices over food. Historically made from turned wood, known as treen, or metal, these objects became established table accessories in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Treen dredgers were crafted on a wood lathe using dense hardwoods such as boxwood, fruitwood, walnut, or mahogany. The body was turned into baluster or urn silhouettes and fitted with a hand-drilled, removable cap.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural signs of age including subtle timber shrinkage, original tool marks from turning on interior surfaces, and smooth wear around joints where the cover fits onto the body.

Small treen objects add texture and historical interest when arranged on kitchen shelving, sideboards, or styled alongside books. Grouping various turned wooden items creates a cohesive tabletop display.

Dust regularly with a dry lint-free cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish periodically to preserve the natural timber finish. Keep the item away from standing water, excessive moisture, and direct heat sources to prevent warping.
