Description

Regency period burr yew wood veneered mahogany book shaped box of shells, circa 1820

Two drawer trays containing small specimen shells in original folded card compartments.

Fine tooled gilt decoration to the spine and cover edges.

The end, retained by leather strap, lifts away to access the drawers

In very good bright sound condition, bruise to one corner

8" x 5" x 1,5/8" or 203mm x 130mm x 40mm, weight 365 grams.
