Victorian Sheffield Sheath Knife Hunting J. Rodgers & Sons 6 Norfolk Street Hoof

Description

Victorian Sheffield made sheath or hunting knife, circa 1900.

The clip pointed blade marked J. Rodgers & Sons, 6 Norfolk Street, Sheffield, England with an asterisk and Maltese Cross.

The handle is dense grained black ebony, chequered with a stylized hoof pommel, held in place on the tang by one rivet.

Thick nickel silver cross guard.

Blade 6,1/2" or 165mm

Knife weight 140 grams.

Original high quality black leather sheath with fine tooling and stitches.

All in very good sound condition, light spotting and 'sharpeners' scratches to the blade.
