Rare, high quality set of carved agate handled scimitar bladed knives and two prong forks, English, circa 1780

Scottish banded agate handles, unmarked silver bolsters, steel blades and forks

The agate carved with deep flutes, an asymmetric accent giving a pistol grip shape.

Length of knifes 10,3/8" or 265mm, forks 7,3/4" or 197mm

Gross weight 982 grams.

Large size dinner table cutlery, well proportioned and balanced to use.

All in excellent sound condition, typical spotting and darkening to the steel and natural flaws to the agate.
