Original British issue Fairbairn & Sykes knife, 2nd pattern commando knife, circa 1939 - 45 made by

The blade etched inscribed WILKINSON SWORD Co Ltd, London and THE F-S FIGHTING KNIFE, with original leather scabbard.
 
The blade with good un re sharpened edges, blade and cross-guard with original dark finish and surface rust patches, the darkened knurled brass handle with general wear and scabbard contact wear to the pommel.
 
The brown leather scabbard in very good condition, light dents to the blackened brass chape, the elastic retainer broken /missing.
 
Length of blade 6,5/8'' or 168mm
 
Overall length of knife 11,3/4'' or 298mm
 
gross weight 276 grams.
 
All original and in very good sound condition.
