Vicky Thomas Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Having studied the panels closely I wonder if they might have once formed the sleeves of a wedding gown, as the design features a couple set on some of the major landmarks of life, surrounded by flowers, trees, mountains and rivers. One sleeve is topped by the sun and the other the moon.
The majority of the embroidery is wrought in 'the forbidden stitch', so called because the fineness of the work was said to cause eyestrain to the needleworker or even blindness!

The panel measures 55cm tall by 25cm wide framed, the image itself being 49cm by 17 cm. Its in great condition with the colours still bright and vibrant.
I offer free delivery across mainland UK, and am very happy to help with quotes for shipping abroad.
