A rare and attractive item, this Victorian set of personal weighing scales is made from solid oak and has a lovely light colour.
English, Circa 1880.
Offered in excellent condition, with square platform step and incorporated height measuring stick in the fluted square column. The brass weighing scale is raised over 2 moulded shelves of circular form which hold 5 brass weights bearing the makers name ''Youngs of Bear Street London''.
Young and Son of No. 5, Bear Street, Leicester Square, London were scale and jockey scale makers by Royal appointment.
