This exquisite three sectioned mirrored plateau of rounded rectangular Surtout de Table with pierced and chased balustrade gallery, the whole lifted on blossoming toupie feet, would enhance the elegance of any dining table. These centrepieces reigned supreme throughout the 1700s and the whole of the 1800s.
 
A toupie foot is a type of furniture foot that dates back to the late 17th century and is often associated with the Louis XIV period. It is characterized by a turned, circular shape that resembles a spinning top or toupie in French. The toupie foot is typically found on case pieces such as chests, commodes, and tables.
