Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Framed needlepoint and tapestry pictures became particularly popular during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries across Europe. Often created by hand using fine wool or silk threads on canvas, these pieces depicted botanical studies, landscapes, or allegorical scenes, framed in giltwood to serve as decorative wall panels.

Traditional needlepoint pictures were crafted using woollen yarn, silk, or cotton threads worked over a canvas or linen substrate. The accompanying frames were typically constructed from carved wood or composition moulding finished with gold leaf, water gilding, or oil gilding.

Authentic antique needlework usually shows age-related fading, natural variations in hand-stitched tension, and evidence of hand-carved joinery or authentic gilding wear on the frame. The reverse of the frame often features older paper backing, handmade nails, or oxidised timber panels.

Hang framed textile artwork in a gallery wall arrangement alongside framed prints or place it above a console table or mantelpiece. Combining soft textile textures and gilded frames with contemporary neutral walls adds historical depth and texture to living spaces.

Display needlework away from direct sunlight and high humidity to prevent fibre degradation and colour fading. Dust the gilt frame gently with a soft dry brush, avoiding liquid cleaners or water that could damage original leaf gilding or penetrate the protective glass.
