Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A joint stool, historically crafted by joiners using mortise and tenon joints, originated as a primary seating form in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Miniature versions were crafted during the late Victorian era as trade samples, childrens furniture, or decorative stands for dolls.

These pieces were constructed from solid oak using traditional pegged mortise and tenon joinery. They feature hand-turned legs, rectangular stretchers for structural stability, and moulded or carved edge detailing.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces display wear along the lower stretchers, natural timber shrinkage over time, and hand-turned leg profiles. The underside typically reveals historic tool marks and dark patination around the joints.

A miniature oak stool serves as a functional display riser on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or bookshelf to elevate ceramics and decorative objects. It can also function within a nursery or living room as a stand for collectibles.

Dust the timber regularly with a dry cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish annually to maintain the original patina. Keep the piece away from direct radiators and damp conditions to prevent timber splitting.
