There are fine quality gilt bronze mounts all over & even the key is beautifully designed in gilt metal. This is finished on all sides so is designed to be free standing in the middle of a room. The original glass top is thick & bevelled, which is another telling sign of the amazing quality on display. The red velvet lining has faded slightly to a dusty pink, but it is in great condition with no damage and only some light wear.
We have just had this French polished & it is in excellent condition for its age.
