FAQs

The Regency style in British furniture design flourished during the early 19th century, characterised by classical influences from Greece, Rome, and Egypt, alongside a refined elegance.

Cabinet makers typically utilised dense tropical hardwoods such as rosewood and mahogany, often featuring intricate brass inlay, gilded mounts, and solid brass castors.

Authentic pieces usually exhibit period-correct joinery, hand-turned or carved supports, high-quality timber grain, and genuine age-related patination on the brass hardware and wood surfaces.

Placing the table behind a sofa or within a hallway allows it to serve both as a functional surface and as a sophisticated focal point that contrasts modern minimalist decor.

Maintain the wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying traditional beeswax to nourish the finish.
