By the renowned cabinet makers Hampton and Sons and dating from ca. 1890 this Superb Quality Victorian Mahogany Antiques Games / Writing Table has a moulded top with green tooled leather writing surface, that swivels open to double its size and reveals a green baize playing surface under which can be found a concealed games storage compartment. It is also very unusual having a pull out pen tray on the side. Below is a working drawer and a faux drawer with the finest inlay and decorative brass handles. This beautiful piece stands on tapering legs with castors, has an X framed stretcher for added stability and has aged to a rich Mahogany shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
