FAQs

A 19th-century stoneware tobacco pot is a dense ceramic vessel designed to hold pipe tobacco, using thick clay walls and a fitted cover to regulate humidity.

These jars were produced using stoneware clay fired at elevated temperatures, finished with lead or salt glazes and detailed with relief-moulded motifs.

Authentic items showcase heavy stoneware construction, relief lettering such as TABAC, hand-applied decorative elements like garlands or masks, and slight irregularities from manual kiln firing.

Position the jar on a bookshelf, desk, or mantelpiece alongside leather-bound volumes or dried botanical arrangements to add tactile depth.

Clean gently with warm water, mild liquid soap, and a non-abrasive soft cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or prolonged immersion.
